Day 1: Dehradun to Lohajung Base Camp

Drive Distance: ~280 km | Duration: 10–11 hours

Your journey begins early in the morning with pickup from Dehradun Railway Station at 6:00 AM. From Dehradun, the drive continues towards Lohajung, passing through scenic mountain roads.

The route goes through Rishikesh, Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, and Tharali, offering beautiful views of river confluences and Himalayan valleys. As the road climbs higher into the mountains, the landscape changes to dense forests and charming villages.

By evening, you will arrive at Lohajung (7,600 ft), the starting point of the Brahmatal Trek. After check-in at the guesthouse or campsite, enjoy dinner and a briefing about the trek.

Day 2: Lohajung to Bekaltal

Trek Distance: ~6 km | Duration: 5–6 hours

Located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, this trek lies near the spiritual town of Joshimath. The Kuari Pass trail, also known as the “Curzon Trail,” was explored by British Viceroy Lord Curzon in the early 1900s. It is renowned for offering a grand 180-degree view of Himalayan giants like Nanda Devi, Dronagiri, Kamet, and Hathi Parvat.

The trek begins through dense oak and rhododendron forests, opens into vast alpine meadows, and gradually climbs toward snow-covered ridgelines. The highlight is the summit push to Pangarchulla Peak, which involves a steep and adventurous climb over snow and rocky terrain. From the top, the Himalayan panorama is nothing short of magical.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Rishikesh to Joshimath (Drive – 8–9 hrs)

Drive along the scenic Alaknanda River, passing Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag. Arrive in Joshimath by evening. Overnight stay in guesthouse/hotel.

Day 2: Joshimath to Dhak Village – Trek to Gulling Top

Drive to Dhak village (approx. 1 hour). Start trekking through forests and steep ascents. Reach Gulling campsite surrounded by oak and rhododendron trees.

  • Trek: 5–6 km

  • Overnight in tents

Day 3: Gulling to Khullara via Tali Forest

Gradual ascent through dense forests and clearings. The trail begins to open up with stunning mountain views.

  • Trek: 5–6 km

  • Overnight in tents

Day 4: Khullara to Kuari Pass and Back

Early morning trek to Kuari Pass. Witness majestic peaks including Nanda Devi and Dronagiri. Spend time at the pass and descend back to camp.

  • Trek: 6–7 km (round trip)

Day 5: Pangarchulla Summit Attempt

Start pre-dawn for the summit climb. The trail becomes steep with snow sections (in spring). Reach Pangarchulla Peak and enjoy panoramic Himalayan views. Descend back to Khullara/Gulling camp.

  • Trek: 8–9 km

  • Overnight in tents

Day 6: Descend to Dhak – Drive to Joshimath

Trek down to Dhak village and drive back to Joshimath. Trip concludes.

Trek Overview – Nag Tibba Trek

The Nag Tibba Trek is one of the most popular weekend treks in Uttarakhand, perfect for beginners and nature lovers. Located in the lower Himalayan range of the Garhwal region, Nag Tibba stands at an altitude of approximately 9,915 ft (3,022 meters). It offers breathtaking panoramic views of snow-clad Himalayan peaks including Swargarohini, Bandarpunch, Kedarnath Peak, and Gangotri Peak.

“Nag Tibba” translates to Serpent’s Peak, and the region is associated with the local deity Nag Devta. The trek begins from Pantwari village, around 85 km from Dehradun, making it easily accessible for a short 2-day adventure.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Dehradun to Pantwari village and trek to Base Camp

Altitude: 2400 metres, 90 km drive and 4 km trek

  • Pick up from Prince chowk near Dehradun Railway station at 6:00 AM.
  • 90 km road ride to Pantwari village from Dehradun crossing the city of Muss0orie & Kempty Falls. Breakfast will be provided in the road side inns. The meal cost during the course of travel will be paid by the individual.
  • Arrival at Pantwari village, followed by lunch at the village. A 4 km trek gradual ascent to the campsite.
  • Evening snacks and refreshments in the evening.
  • Dinner at the campsite.

Day 2: Base camp to Nag Tibba and back to Pantwari to Dehradun

Altitude: 3022 metres, 12 km trek and 90 km drive

  • Early excursion to Nag Tibba top at 5 a.m.
  • A 4 km ascend trek to summit of medium grade.
  • Carry 1 litre of water individually as the trail is deprived of water streams.
  • Reach at Nag Tibba top and stay there for a while.
  • Excursion back to Pantwari village from the top via camp1.
  • Lunch at Pantwari village followed by 90 km drive back to Dehradun.
  • Expected time of arrival in Dehradun 9.p.m
