Trek Overview

The Kashmir Great Lakes Trek begins from Sonamarg, meaning “Meadow of Gold,” and ends at Naranag. This journey is a perfect blend of adventure and natural beauty. Every day reveals a new landscape — from rolling grasslands and shepherd settlements to turquoise lakes reflecting the mighty Himalayas.

The highlight of the trek is reaching Gangbal and Nundkol lakes, located at the base of Mount Harmukh. These sacred and scenic lakes offer one of the most magical camping experiences in India.

The trek is moderately challenging due to long walking hours and high-altitude passes, making it ideal for trekkers with good fitness levels and some prior trekking experience.
