Trek Overview – Hamta Pass Trek

The Hamta Pass Trek is one of the most dramatic crossover treks in Himachal Pradesh. It connects the lush green valleys of Kullu with the stark, barren landscapes of Lahaul. Within just a few days, you witness a complete transformation of scenery — from pine forests and gushing rivers to snow bridges, high mountain passes, and cold desert terrain.

Situated near Manali, the trek begins from Jobra and gradually ascends through dense forests, wide meadows, and glacier valleys before reaching Hamta Pass at 14,100 ft. From the top, the panoramic views of the Lahaul valley and surrounding snow peaks are simply breathtaking.

This 5N/6D itinerary is designed for proper acclimatization and comfortable trekking. It is ideal for beginners with good fitness levels as well as experienced trekkers who want to experience a classic Himalayan crossover trail.

The highlight of the trek is crossing the pass and witnessing the dramatic landscape shift in a single journey.
